WHAT TO BRING
DUMMY - Even if you don’t use one at home it is very important to bring one along to your session. It can be the make or break between a great session and a hard one. I end up using one at every session at some point and it always helps bubba sooth into their poses. They’re our life saver - trust me.
MILK - If you are breast feeding your baby think about bringing expressed milk as an option! It can be very handy especially if your baby is a long feeder.
A loose wrap to feed baby in.
Lunch and snacks for yourself.
Nappies and wipes
WHAT TO DO THE MORNING OF YOUR SESSION
To ensure a nice sleepy baby for your session I have a few tips that you can try at home the morning of the session to make sure your bubba is nice and sleep and co operative for their photos.
Try not to let your baby sleep undisturbed for 3 hours prior to your session. They will then want to party (be awake) when you get to my studio.
Try keeping the awake by giving them a bath.
Let baby kick/ stretch and have some awake time. Tickle their toes , talk to them. Tell dad it’s his job to entertain / keep baby awake while you get ready.
FYI : I am aware that most newborns only sleep eat and poop mostly so I’m not expecting you to keep your baby fully awake for the whole 3 hours prior, just try your best for as much awake time as your baby can manage.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SESSION
Sessions will run for 3-4 hours
Feeding baby 3-4 hours prior to arrival time. That way you can have baby ready for a feed on arrival.
As soon as you arrive we will undress baby, wrap them in your loose wrap, feed and then Bub will be ready to begin their first modelling experience.
I begin the session with baby wrapped then slowly work our way to the nakie poses.
It will be very warm in the studio so dress in breathable clothing. Newborns cannot regulate their own temperature so in order to get those naked poses we need it to be nice and cozy in the studio.
Please be mindful that baby will run the show. I can achieve most poses with every baby but sometimes I might not be able to if Bub is unsettled with belly pains ect.
